Shanghai | Zhujiajiao Ancient Town

[Photos by Leon Li and yours truly]

During the planning stages of our trip, this place was one of those "should we, should we not?". There was just too much to do in Shanghai, and since this would be the farthest on our list, and the most time-consuming, it was the one we were considering less.

Anyways, things worked out for the better, because this place is so pretty! Small canals, beautiful chinese houses, tons of souvenir shopping opportunities, and yum yum food. You could tell it was more tourist attraction than secret find though, I mean, for gosh sakes' there was a Starbucks, but some things did not change. We rode those bike-pulled carts from the station to this town, which was quite fun. Locals used their little boats to move around the canals, there was homemade food, and you get that chill vibe while walking around. Everyone proceeded to walk on their own pace and visit different things separately, but for some reason we were not scared someone would get lost. I got beautiful framed prints to bring home, and a full stomach after all those snacks.

Sigh. We are almost done my darlings. But would you visit this place? Let me know! See you soon.
