Jacket: Tom Tailor (vintage)// Crop Top: H&M// Shorts: Forever 21// Shoes: Asos// Chain: Stradivarius
So here's my first brush with the teeny tiny crop top trend. I think the key is balancing it with looser bottoms to put on the illusion of a smaller waist. Hence, the colorful parrots culotte shorts from Forever 21. Ain't it such a cute summer staple? I can see it now with livelier, highly pigmented summer tops as the days progress into even hotter summer territory. This outfit is what I may call a 'uniform'. A light jacket (that will disappear sometime around noon), breezy top and bright shorts/skirts. I added some walkable heels for a good measure.
Anyways, since we are in the topic of Parrots, would you get mad at me if I said our tendency as people to be 'parrots' would be our biggest downfall?
We tend to enjoy gossip and to repeat the things we hear from others to someone else, and while there is nothing wrong with that in small doses (I understand it happens, even to me) but if used maliciously it can really change lives - for better or infinitely worse. I have fallen victim to, and have been, a parrot. It sucks if you get found out. It sucks even more if you have to lose friends or the trust of someone. Nowadays I try to be more positive, talking to a person face-to-face instead of behind their backs. It's really hard to constantly check if there's a bull's eye behind your back. Maybe transparency is what this world actually needs. Or maybe I'm BS. You can tell me - I won't judge.
I really do abhor summer. It's stuffy, hot and irritating, but my summer wardrobe is kind of making it better. What are your summer staples, sweeties? Let me know below.
See you soon,
