Shenzhen | Wedding Town

To say that this day in our trip did not go according to plan would be my year's biggest understatement. We had two places in mind today - an old town and this little gem. Our morning started well enough - quick breakfast, getting my butt off our comfy hotel bed long enough to get a shower and outfit on, and then booking a two-person bike. Yep. Two-person bike. Remind me never to do this again! Leon and I fought the entire way, arguing about heat, and heavy body weight, and dusty roads. Never again. Haha, one for the bucket list though. We never got to the old town.

Then, finally, after making nice and having a short lunch, we came here - to Wedding Town. Oh and we snuck in. Haha. See...Wedding Town is not open to the public, since married couples have to pay to take pictures here. Luckily, Leon started talking to this one guy, who was actually a vendor looking to rent inside, and he actually snuck as in as his colleagues! Hahaha. Really. Anyways, this is hands-down one of the most bizarre places ever. What looks like a mishmash of European and Middle Earth architecture, and hundreds of brides, all braving the heat in full-length gowns and veils. We were probably the only two people not taking pictures in wedding gear. Haha. This is why there aren't more pictures actually. Didn't want to get caught.

Anyways, the outfit that day was just simple. Good too, since I swear I must have yelled obscenities in about three languages hauling that stupid two-person bike almost four kilometres. Imagine if I did that in heels. I might have thrown them at Leon's head in annoyance!

The day ended in an obscure beach, which we did not plan to go to - hence going without swimwear - and we swam. We ended that day dripping wet, sitting in our rented car in our wet undies! Haha, oh the things Leon and I find ourselves in. You'd think we were afraid of planning or something - which is not the case. We usually plan a lot of things.

So, do you like the pictures, darlings? Would you sneak in? Let me know in the comments below! See you soon - Che
