Trench and chain: Stradivarius// Tee: Mountain// Heels: Forever 21// Beanie: H&M// Bag: Nessa
Don't get me wrong sweeties, I love me some statement, one-of-a-kind pieces. But the real MVP's in my closet aren't my cool, funky stuff, but my sort of boring, super wearable, basics. This trench - which I have worn so many times I've gotten to scheduling when I could wear it on my blog - also, new black pumps, and the perfect, dark wash skinnies. These are the pieces that are tedious to buy, are always last resort, and yet lifesavers. So today, I am honoring my boring basics.
Funny thing is, this was not my initial outfit. My pug tee was supposed to be the star today. But after a few shots I knew it wasn't working. So I buttoned the trench up and wore my red beanie, which I forgot to remove from my bag, and voila! A different outfit. But since basics always work, it was still a success in the end. I spent the day walking around for a quick shopping trip. I picked up more basics - this time white sneakers and another black bag. So stay tuned sweeties.
Valentine's day is now around the corner. This would be our first Valentine's as a married couple, so the pressure is on. And I think I have exhausted the list of presents I could give him at this point. So I'll have to take this challenge in the creative direction. I'm planning to give him a portrait of himself with lots of pop art colors, but that seems like a stretch since I don't really have time. But we'll see.
So lovelies, what have you planned for this year's Valentines? And style-wise, what are the MVPs in your closet?
Let me know! See you soon,
