Okay, before you head to my comments section to berate me on wearing gym wear in public, I have a very, very good reason, haha. One of the first things I thought of doing in Danang was rappelling into a hole in the ground to an underground cave of demons. Yep. I have never done anything like that before, and I wanted to be ready for it, hence the sportswear. Now, this whole trip to Danang I have been telling you about me and Leon's tendency not to plan anything in advanced. For the most part it worked - but not this time. Actually, we can't just show up, line up and then rappel. We had to book the rappelling tour, which we did not do, but then it did not seem very appealing since we found the price would have been 57USD per person.
So, there we were at Marble Mountains. We made the trip via motorbike that we rented around our hotel, which was too much fun, and decided, anyways, to go up and see what it was all about. I think my outfit was very practical since actually, what it was, was a lot of walking and climbing stairs. I felt like I was on workout mode. But Marble mountains was worth the trip. It was a beautiful, quiet, very spiritual place. Nevermind that I wasn't buddhist or any of that, but it made me feel very relaxed and at peace. It also had an amazing view of the city below it, after I don't know how many steps. Oh and there was a cave which I'm pretty sure had bats in it. When you got to the cave, you would see a hole up to another cave, and then another. That was pretty fun, not knowing what would be in the next cave.
I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a different experience in Danang other than the beach and sun, though do a lot of that as well!
After this tour around the mountain, we went back into the city where I saw a rocky place that doubled as a mud bath spa. Yep, we did that as well, which was one of the funniest experiences of my life. Who knew that mud felt like swimming in coffee? Hahahaha. I recommend trying that out too.
