Hanoi | The Long Road to Halong Bay

I'M WEARING>> Top: H&M// Skirt: Stradivarius// Shoes: Topshop// Bag: Hoi An Street, Danang// Sunnies: Yuyuan Market, Shanghai// Hanoi Beer at noon time

Halong Bay. This was our only plan going into Hanoi. Armed only with my shoulder bag items (change of clothes, sunscreen, lip tint, toothbrush, passport and money bag), Leon's backpack items (camera, change of clothes, GoPro, toothbrush, phone charger), a lot of last minute plans and so much walking, we finally made our way to a small, shady looking travel agency weirdly recommended to me by a friend who had gone backpacking in Vietnam for the greater part of a month. We booked our trip in USD, were given a pink receipt, and went on our way.

We had no idea if the travel agency was legit or what, but it was of course. They were a little too early, coming in around 30 minutes before our pick-up time. Haha. And then we were stuck on that bus for four hours! Four freakin' hours. After that gruelling ride on the hot bus with the loose spring in the seats, finally we were given a short 20 minutes to get outside and stretch our legs. That was after four hours, and we still had a good two hours more to go. That's where these pictures are, sweeties. Two hours out from Hanoi, in a small tourist shop. Thank goodness that place was pretty. All in all though, the trip was not unpleasant. Everything went according to plan, and we paid so much less than one of the first agencies we asked, which had a tour package price of 50USD per person! Ours was a little more acceptable 44 USD for 2 people. We think they did have free bottles of water to offer, but we were shy to ask and there was nothing but beer in our bags, so that's what we're drinking here. Tee hee.

Anyways, to actually see my Halong Bay pictures, you would have to stay tuned. Trust me though, this place is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in all my travels. The cruise was also one of our most relaxing experiences ever. So, see you soon right? - Che
