Osaka Girl

Wow, it's been a while, but I have a very, very good reason this time really. Yep, it's the start of my short reprieve from daily life into a crazy new world of larger than life extremities, Japan. Wow, I've only been here for two days and I am already reminded of how much I used to dream about going to this country. But I'm not gonna spoil it now because my travel diaries series is coming up next like usual, starting with dear, amazing Osaka.

Today let's talk Japanese fashion. I must say, it was a little intimidating planning outfits for Japan just because you know the people there are gonna bring it in the style department. I wasn't wrong, BTW. But what surprised me more were the large amount of options and more than affordable prices. I always hear from my friends how shopping can be quite expensive here, but I guess in Osaka this was not the case. Walking around the Osaka shopping mecca, Shinsaibashi (and trust me, we weren't even halfway through yet) I found this amazing shop dedicated to amazing basics - like button-front skirts galore, culottes in rainbow colors and textures, and the high-neck top in endless styles, so of course I had to get myself some new stuff, hence these white culottes. Half the girls here are in culottes. I was going for a necklace but nah, a bandanna was a welcome addition of color to my otherwise blank look. I think I was going for a little modern Japanese style, but I guess in the end it was still more me than Japanese. What do you think? Let me know? And stay tuned for so much more pictures to come! - Che
